VITTORIO'S MISTRESS Vittorio Series Book 3 edition by Kimberley Reeves Literature Fiction eBooks

I got bored and started searching through my kindle for old books that I hadn't read yet and found this one. It was an ok read...predictable and yet entertaining, much like watched a soap opera with a hot bossy alpha and the wishy-washy woman who secretly had his baby and for whatever reason was hiding it.
Not bad for a beach read or when you want something light with minimal plot and lots of drama with steamy sex scenes.

VITTORIO'S MISTRESS Vittorio Series Book 3 edition by Kimberley Reeves Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I'm terrible at reviews, but here's to trying.

I've had the pleasure of reading many of Kim's novels on a community writing site. She's an awesome author and I love her work, but it is the Vittorio stories that truly shine.

Like all her men, Dante is devilish and sexy. He is single minded in his mission of revenge against his former flame, Paige, who suddenly left years ago breaking his heart. However, he soon finds out that he is no more immune to her than he ever was.

Paige has her own reasons for having left (though I refuse to spoil it!) and has never stopped loving Dante. When she runs into him unexpectedly, she fights to keep both her secret and to deny her intense feelings for him. Which is impossible!

This is a fantastic read. I am waiting and crossing my fingers that this author gets her other works published soon. What out for this one, she's going to be the next big thing!
This was a fun story. It was a nice roller coaster romantically. I love all the characters. They fit well together.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the way the romance developed against Vitorrio's mob connection. His position as head of a mafia family made him the kind of man he was. Paige the very independent woman would naturally lock horns with a domineering over protective man like Vitorrio. That is what made the story interesting. I did at several points want to knock Paige in the head because she didn't seem to get what a relationship with a man like him would entail. I could not forgive her for keeping her daughter a secret for four years. Overall I really liked this book and plan to read the next in the series.
I LOVED this book...and except for the part included in the sample I read it in a day. I couldn't put it down.

I agree with another reviewer that it is everything that a romance should be. The misundestandings...the actual feelings involved instead of only the chemistry...the part that the minor characters play...that things are not resolved too quick or too slow...the devilish guy who's actually a good guy at heart...etc etc etc. )

I loved how the secret was revealed...so different than usual. I also loved how the guy handled it...also different than usual. I loved the part with the guy's family at the end...and that it didn't simply end when the characters got together. I loved how the perspective of the guy changed over the course of the story.

I loved the whole thing...and would definitely read more books by this author...and more books like this one.
..and that is why i gave it two stars. i do not hate this story, but i hate that the author has not taken her time and developed this plot the way she should have. i don't know if it's a lack of skill or a lack of interest, but it does a disservice to readers to blitz through a story without developing your characters. that being said, this is a solid OUTLINE with potential.

let me back up and first say that i nearly stopped reading this story six times. it was extremely difficult to complete, and what really drove me wasn't the plot itself, but rather the desire to give an honest review.

i think one reviewer used the word 'tedious' to describe the progression, and that is apt. the pov switches characters from one paragraph to the next and while it isn't the WORST i've seen, that type of inconsistency is very distracting. assuming the inconsistency is deliberately trying to accomplish something (moving the plot along, for example), i'd have to say it isn't successful. along those same lines, the passage of time is uneven. a day may stretch several pages then a month of activity is accomplished in a few paragraphs. and mind you, there is nothing wrong with such a technique in the hands of a skilled author, but here it just seems amateurish.

the real rub for me is that the entire story was on the edge of being good. the characters need to be fleshed out so that you can sympathize with them or hate them or love them or feel whatever it is you want to feel about them. it is really hard to do that at present, because the characters are so flat. the author does a lot of telling, and that's too bad, because a lot of the dialogue and actions don't make sense. whatever reasoning processes a character goes through happen right there on the page, and while this may not sound like a big deal, when you don't have the context or filter of a well-defined character, it just tends to be totally unbelievable. or, if you will, a poorly-defined character becomes projected onto the reader for him to interpret through his own filter rather than the one the author crafted. the result can end up being something totally unbelievable (as i previously stated), depending on the reader.

thankfully, grammatical errors were at a minimum, but i'd say there were still too many for a published (and supposedly edited) work.

all in all, before i'd recommend this to anyone to read, i'd want the author to spend some (more) time with her characters. the bare bones are here in desperate need of some fattening.
This was the first work by Kimberley Reeves that I read & I was not disappointed! Vittorio's Mistress was sexy, romantic, emotional, and moved at a good pace that doesn't leave the reader bored. The characters, Dante & Paige, were both well-developed and likeable. The plot & storyline was interesting & got me hooked. I started reading and couldn't put it down until I was finished three hours later, which was very early in the morning. This story was a definite page 'clicker' for me! I got absorbed into the story right away & couldn't wait to see what happened next between Paige & Dante.

Overall, author Kimberley Reeves impressed me with this novel! She is a great new voice in the romance genre and definitely one to look out for! I've already downloaded five of her other works & cannot wait to read them. Highly recommend Vittorio's Mistress for those looking to get lost in a light, sexy, and romantic novel.
